Ingredients

  • 1 cup (240ml) oat flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup avocado oil
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips (plus more for topping)

  1. Prep.
  2. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  3. Grease an 8×8-inch (20cm) baking pan or line with parchment.
  4. Combine dry ingredients.
  5. In a medium mixing bowl combine oat flour, cocoa powder, sea salt and baking powder.
  6. Whisk wet ingredients.
  7. In a large mixing bowl whisk together eggs, avocado oil, maple syrup, applesauce and vanilla extract.
  8. Combine.
  9. Pour dry ingredients into wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  10. Add chocolate chips.
  11. Fold in chocolate chips.
  12. Bake.
  13. Transfer mixture to the prepared pan.
  14. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until brownies are set in the center and a toothpick comes out clean.
  15. Serve.
  16. Let brownies cool completely (trust me, they test better cool, plus you won’t burn your mouth).
  17. Cut into squares and enjoy!.
