- 1 tbsp smoked paprika
- 2 tsp sweet paprika
- 1 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 3/4 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
- 1/4 tsp dried oregano
- 1/4 tsp dried basil
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (or more to taste)
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 4 salmon fillets (about 1 1/4 lbs)
- 2 tbsp butter (melted)
- 1 tbsp parsley (chopped)
- parsley sprigs and lemon wedges for garnish

- Place the smoked paprika, sweet paprika, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, brown sugar, black pepper, thyme, oregano, basil and cayenne pepper in a small bowl.
- Stir until thoroughly combined.
- Brush the melted butter all over the top of the salmon fillets.
- Sprinkle the seasoning mix over the top of the salmon, using your hands to press the spices into the fish.
- Heat a cast iron skillet over high heat.
- Brush the skillet with vegetable oil.
- Place the salmon in the skillet and cook skin side up for 3-4 minutes or until a dark brown crust forms.
- Carefully flip the salmon.
- Reduce the heat to medium high and cook for an additional 7-8 minutes or until the fish flakes easily with a fork and is opaque.
- Sprinkle with parsley, then serve garnished with lemon wedges and parsley sprigs.
